Has anyone tried to count the number of managers versus direct reports?? More managers than direct reports.. managers only want to look good, zero knowledge and expect direct reports to deliver. How does that work in meetings for Chevron?

LOL, this is a cesspool of negativity. If people are laid off, that’s a bad thing. If people are hired, that’s a bad thing. :)

You forgot the 'aside from nothing......'. Some of them over dress to hide in plain sight. Meetings are another way. Reports, can't have enough reports. Like that scene in Step Brothers. So many activities.

This is part of the problem. The air is so full of FUD that if a function manages to preserve some head count, it’s assumed to be at the expense of some one else. Or underserved.

When the reality is everyone is getting hosed together. What I see is a few leaders playing the system better than others to protect “their” people. What I don’t see is anyone standing up to really bad ideas from the top. Just a bunch of nodding heads.
