Drivers who are eligible should retire now if they can, take the package. It looks like they are offering you, your full pension benefits, current health benefits - although you will have to pay roughly 200 per person. The only question I have is will UPS pay for the drivers accrued vacation time, if they accept buyout. Older drivers routes will change to meet package decline. More younger less seniority driver will get laid off-have to work 2 hub shifts, low seniority hub employees will just get laid off. I really feel bad for operations supervisors. They will abuse them, especially the older operations management employees. UPS is hoping they die or force retirement, whichever comes first.
