CDW changes (Small Business) blowing in the wind

This is a follow-up to being the average middle-aged white guy at CDW; the message is that your services are no longer needed. It doesn't matter whether you have experience or Channel contacts. Executive leadership has always played around with Small Business. Remember when Katrina was the SB leader (Oh God, that disaster). The new leader was brought in for one single purpose: to execute a new plan. Most in Small Business won't like. There will likely be a house cleaning or purge requiring the AM's to the field based on account size. If you are an AM and moved out of territory during Covid good luck. Account management will be leaner. It might be best to align your accounts in LinkedIn have contacts you rely on. Expect fewer Directors, Sales Managers and AM's. If worried maybe have a contact at a competitor on speed dial as a back up. Good luck

@10q right... Get rid of the bloat and add amas or other sales assisting roles. Get rid of all the bullsh-t metrics. You are either selling or you aren't.

SMB West morale really doesn’t exist anymore at this point. It’s a waste land of stale leadership who thinks they provide value to their sellers. What a joke.

CDW SMB needs change. When I left last year morale was already at rock bottom. No idea how bad it is now. The DC team is held together by enterprise accounts that are listed on the Nasdaq. No idea how they are scored as “small business” accounts still. The sales manager will “split” accounts with a tenured rep and the junior rep she favors. The rest of that team is making peanuts. There is zero sales consultation, just “how much can we get them to spend so that we can hit goal this month.” The 35k base salary is a slap in the face in 2025. Tenured reps make sure that any account with working is hoarded. The sales director is more worried about how pretty she looks and being a “city girl.”

Highly likely smb will restructure, but most likely it will involve hiring more reps not firing them. But yes reps and books will probably be shuffled around based on what I’ve heard. They feel we are under penetrating our market and need to expand.
