Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

AMZN MSFT and ELV

Amazon and Microsoft announced big cuts today. RIFs are ongoing in ELV. Though not in the same league, all of these greedy corporations are big users of each-one-bees.
How is this even allowed? With Trump rocking the Apple cart with major Medicaid change, it is going to be worse in ELV.
How is this even allowed? Where do Americans work? Just unfair for the middle class Americans.
Where is Brannon and the other big mouths? Will someone help us?

The story is that AI is reducing jobs, but offshore hiring is being used to hide the AI hype layoffs.

@z1 Adding to your comments, they don't know the healthcare industry either. This will go well.

@pk I'm so tired of being told the offshore workforce is so much more skilled than US workers.?????
I’ve had offshore folks that I had to explain the difference between a deductible and coinsurance. And, yes, they’re working for a insurance company. Us!

@pk I'm so tired of being told the offshore workforce is so much more skilled than US workers. I've worked with so many that can't fix issues on first try and then have to escalate to higher tiers. Sometimes multiple cals/ to getvto the bottom of issue where the top tier is on shore. Its like they need to hire more offshore to handle incompetence of other offshore workers. They don't understand American health insurance and itvsucks to deal with try to explain requirements where programmers just end up doing what's easier forvtgem to code than how it actually works. No wonder we have so many things that don't work at hellavance.

@d8 a huge help to American IT workers would be to severely limit the number of H1B visas allowed and to implement massive fines on any American company that is sending all of our IT jobs overseas. Make it so cost prohibiting for these companies to outsource which will bring jobs back to the US and raise revenue from companies that insist on outsourcing to places like India. The insane amount of outsourcing our IT jobs to India plus allowing so many Indians to come here and take our IT jobs is what has destroyed and continues to destroy the IT job sector for Americans.

There isn’t a labor shortage. Companies expect people to work for next to nothing. Pay people a decent wage and they’ll see the labor shortage go away. Companies set unrealistic growth targets then cut wages to make up the gap for missed targets. Time for corporations to realize double digit growth year over year may not be attainable. Fix your business model.

US policies have always been US middle class at the bottom, then US workers under it. Outsourcing and H1B visas are for foreign policy wins. They are our friends after all.
