@cq, what makes you think I still work for Chevron?

I appreciate taking swings at these types of opportunities where we’ve got some inherent expertise within other parts of our operations. Why not us?!

Why do most of you even work for Chevron with the opinions that you have of their direction and leadership? So that you can whine on here all day?
It would seem that with the poor views and outlooks many of your have been expressing for O&G, that many would welcome getting into other segments of the energy industry. I certainly would.

I’m surprised w/the lithium leases as well. CVX has a poor history of trying to get into other technology areas ( batteries, nuclear, etc) and this looks like it will be another one. They should have looked near El Centro CA, as there is geothermal production already in the area, plus lithium in the produced fluids.

We should hire a large team, have them move to NE Texas / SW Arkansas to start extracting lithium, and then after 2 years send all the workflows to ENGINE. Then the employees that uprooted and took a chance in CNE can be rewarded with unemployment while living in an area with no other redeeming qualities.

Another "what's trendy today" investment and waste of money. Right up there with gas from cow manure. Maybe more correctly, 'what was trendy yesterday when all the good opportunities were bought up by others'. Will this be run from India as well?

We have subsurface expertise that we can leverage for this. Not to mention energy storage will be a big industry for decades to come.
