Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Automating out Network Operations?

Anyone hear that they’re trying to automate out the Network Operations Centers?

Just heard this through the grapevine

@kg Operations went to the toilet when they promoted Brian King prior to the merger.

In all honesty we just need somebody to keep track of the big pipes and that's it. It seems with their limited resources they are failing to carry the weight. Before the layoffs of yesteryear, it still felt like they weren't very good at their jobs. The CW's that were hired to just answer the phone calls were useless as well. What a waste. They only have their performance to blame.

Yes and should. The regions will have CRTs doing what you do and what isn't automated. It's been in the working for 24 months now. Appalachian area was the test bed. Facts!!

There's been plenty of automation for years. It gets sent to an engineer at the NOC who processes it according to a ruleset and is dealt with.

AI gives the opportunity for self-healing radio networks, paging a tech when only necessary, removing the NOC engineer from a job.

Already is to an extent. Get calls all the time about SI issues at sites.
