Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

JUDGEMENT WEEK

Layoffs are hard on everyone, even for those who get to keep their jobs. Its hard watching colleagues get let go, workplace dynamics is about to change, its all very overwhelming. None of us could have controlled what is about to happen, its just the reality.
But i am here to remind each of you to be as respectful as you can be - to your team leads, your managers, your team mates, your colleagues. There is no point in hating on anyone. Every single one of Chevron's employees comes into work with one motive - to work and provide for their family. Its a small industry, you'll be surprised how often people cross paths. All you can do is be a bigger person and be respectful.
I wish all my colleagues and friends at Chevron the best of luck. Its going to be different going forward and you need your head on your shoulder to get through it all.

All I can say after 17 and 1/2 years at Chevron in the Permian Basin. They didn’t care like they preach. Oh well!!! One door closes, ten will open.

@a8 yup, seen this time and time again. Managers and HR have to do the dirty work first only to be let go later. Its corporate America at its finest.

I realised this will be an unpopular opinion but please know that this is also really hard for the HR people who have to deliver the news to colleagues, especially with also knowing that their own jobs will be gone in round two but have to put their own feelings aside to take care of others.
