Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Is USAA P&C Safe from Layoff's? With all the layoff's in Bank and ECIO, will P&C be the next? Worried.

Layoffs, not layoff's. The apostrophe is not used to pluralize words. I say this not to nitpick but to make a point many of us seem to forget or never have been taught, based on what I see in Your Voice. The point being how you present yourself in writing very heavily influences how you are perceived. So if/when you're looking for your next role, internally or externally, make use of IT tools to check your spelling and grammar. I stink at math and I know it, so I triple check my work. If you know the written word is not your strong suit, check your work before you post it. May sound picky, but writing and speaking and dressing 100% influences your personal brand. Stand out from the crowd in a GOOD way.

If you feel like you have to ask internet anons if you are safe from layoffs... assume you are not safe.

Always be searching for something better, internally and/or externally. Nobody else is going to look out for you.

No, but stick it out for severance. I'm lucky that I was already looking externally when the last round happened. I got severance for my 21 years there, 3 weeks before I went to Allstate. I won on both sides, and shared the Prod Mgmt plan/rate hikes for the next two years. Eff this place, EMG, and BoD. They deserve what they get. Membership eligibility expansion is already failing.

If you work here, you're not safe. Make sure you have an updated resume ready and update your skills while you can. No position is safe anymore. These clowns have zero issue eliminating your job, replacing you with an unqualified off-shore contractor, and not giving a single care about the impact to our members.

August is the next notification cycle. CFO has large commitments it needs to hit for both itself and business units. Everyone needs to update their resumes and be prepared. USAA of old is gone, and obviously the culture is, too. We are starting to operate as a publicly traded company by new EMG who failed at established publicly traded companies. These weren't industry leaders we hired - we got the left overs. Look at the HR senior team. Look at IT. We hired greedy people who want to get paid in golden parachutes at the expense of loyal employees. Remember, our cr-ppy BoD they started the us vs them mentality. Be defiant! Question everything to get through their weak corporate talk. Make them question themselves and discover if they are good people. We are led by soulless S.O.Bs. if you are going to be let go, be just as soulless with them. They don't care about you personally, just their own wallet. They don't care about the military or mission.

I could have sworn that there were more comments than what are showing. Did some of them get deleted.

Smart money says no one is safe at USAA unless you’re in the c-suite.
