They’ve let it drag on too long between when they announced layoffs and when they will actually occur. I’ve heard EOIs will be solicited toward the end of July, and they’ll build out the new orgs and fill the “boxes” in September deciding who stays and who goes, meaning layoffs wont be effective until at least October, so months left to go. People are demoralized or are stabbing each other in the backs as they try to prove their worth because they want to stay. It’s a toxic environment that is being dragged out because the process is taking so long.

Would you rather have DOGE? Laying off indiscriminately based on bizarre criteria? If you are a good and productive employee, it's probably a good thing it takes this long. It takes a while to find spots for the people they want to keep when projects they are on are discontinued (among many other considerations).
By announcing and then not acting, management is making their job easier. Some normal attrition and some people leaving consciously make the job easier. Then there’s always the possibility something happens to drive up prices and the gap between current overstaffing and future needs narrows. All these factors drive management to act slowly. Being decisive is not their forte.
There is a line between transparency and unnecessary worry. Since CEP was announced in November last year, it will have been almost a year by the time layoffs occur. That is too much time. These last few months will be a drag.
To previous poster, I don't think the folks on here are crybabies. We depend on these jobs to support our family which is (for me speaking at least) my #3 job behind loving my God, loving my wife/family, and third is supporting them and enabling our lives through the financial means met by this job. So am I sensitive to it, ABSOLUTELY.
You must be new here.
We’ve been doing it this way since ‘15.
SPIRIT values and all that.
