They should fear litigation for ageism!
It’s unlikely that severance would change in any material way from earlier precedents. The company would fear litigation alleging bias over certain groups getting higher severance than others.
Outside 60 warn notice requirement severance are good will gesture. They can go away anytime but would Illumina reduce or go away with it? I highly doubt it. There is only so much a company can do before people start avoiding such companies.
I haven't been here long enough to know.
