I quit at the end of 2016. I was making roughly $95,000.
My base salary increased 27% day one.
After one year, my annual bonus was 12% of my annual salary (gross $15k)
At the end of the year, I got an 11% pay increase.
So in the first year, I essentially made 45% more than I had the year before...and I got a bigger raise in one year, than the previous 6 years combined.
Prior to quitting, I "exceeded expectations" every single year, got promoted, and helped land a multi-million dollar contract. I finally called it done when the screwed with the severance package ( I had 20+ years in) - when it went from a 26 week safety net, to a basic 8 weeks...
Now I work remote, I rarely travel, pretty much set my own schedule. There are days I have nothing to do, there are days when there aren't enough hours. I make close to double what I did when I left. However, the biggest difference is that I don't spend all day looking over my shoulder waiting for the axe to drop...and it's hard to put a price on that.
