and this is me just reading between the lines here, partly based on how Kate gave a completely tone deaf and rather insulting Big “Thank you very much” to Mass markets for building up fiber to the home in to a profitable business … so that they can sell it off!
And partly based on how we’re now all of a sudden putting in fresh copper in the ground for wholesale residential pots and new enterprise customers, and partly based on how they are now trying to call out copper net techs after hours for T1 turn backs, when back in April outages ( cut cables ) that had t1 associated with them, weren’t enough of a priority for emergency digs!
I’d say the plan is to use the mass market network techs that know copper to build up the enterprise copper segment for better marketable value,
at the same time clean up and reduce the wholesale trouble reports ! So that in the end they can more easily get regulatory approval to sell off the copper exchanges!
It’s pretty clear they think the mass markets employees are still gullible enough to work them selves out of a job,
It worked with Quantum, So why not try it with enterprise!
