In 2016, I had to deliver the news to my AD team that they were not selected. I was given a script and told to memorize it so that it didn't seem impersonal when I told them they were not selected. Lots of really good young people let go that day, they all left the oil patch. HR "partner" was in the room but didn't say anything. I was in a closed position. Everyone got a number score based on PMP and skills assessment. Since they were all solid 2 performers, they mathematically were not going to get a job. I am very sorry everyone is going through this AGAIN. Chevron is being run into the ground...

What’s the funny part? That it’s a gym bag not a computer bag?
@fs+1jxb69kp9
That's funny! I would not be surprised :)
@fy+1jxb69kp9
Never heard that one, but sounds good.
Remember the story about the “gym bag” guy that wouldn’t leave his office and security had to be called?
Just use copilot on our poorly secured HR sharepoint because people don’t know what they’re doing, leaving files all open.
You can find stuff this week!
In this Economy? There’s no way Chevron will notify everyone on Monday.
Just tell us if we have jobs or not! Why are we waiting until next week????
The Belko Experiment. Movie about company employees locked in at work while HR announces the rules for playing a game. It’s highly metaphorical. Watch it.
What’s that George Clooney movie about layoffs? Will be the same as that x10
If we don’t answer the call from the selection rep do we keep our job?
@az If your selection rep calls you, you don't have a job. If the job owner calls you, you have a job. They have Mon-Thu to make the calls.
There’s no way they’ll be able to tell everyone in a single day. Especially because I think it’s HR policy that you have to be verbally informed of your outcome by your manager first
Back in 2015, they said every employee would get a call from their manager on Thursday to be notified if we had a position or not. I was sweating bullets as the day wore on!!!!!! No call. The next day I went in and sat in my office, waiting. (My badge worked to get in so I thought it a good sign!). My manager entered my office at 9:30, sat down, and burst into sobbing unable to speak. I silently pushed my Kleenex across the desk. When finally able to speak, manager indicated they’d been pulled into layoffs in Bldg. T all day on Thursday. Said I was safe and still employed in same position. Said the day before layoffs were horrible, people screaming and crying up and down the hallways. Security called in.
That was the strangest manager meeting I ever had at Chevron. But I’m posting it to say that when they advertise messaging will be and when it happens, could be very different. All the people and all the emotions.
Notifications are being done by the ENGINE call center. They have plenty of highly trained staff ready to deliver the message immediately.
@a8 26+ were notified by their boss' boss.
I am expecting it will take longer than Monday. How employees would be notified? Emails or supervisor call ?
@OP they deleted my last post about it. But I was told that because HR has to be on every call, it might take longer than Monday.
Would hope so , if it’s anything like the PDC the earlier you hear the better the news.
