Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Cuts will be followed by huge attrition

Even if I survive, I will do my best not to be here next year. I know several other people who are thinking of doing the same. Layoffs will definitely negatively affect the motivation and productivity of those who survive the cuts, and I would not be surprised if cuts were followed by a huge attrition.

The company will be sold for assets within 3 years. Maybe they can beg the government to let STX merge with Toshiba. No other options. Complete mismanagement

That's the game plan dude..Layoff with lousy package followed by pay cut...then natural attrition takes effect ... management just have to wait for further workforces restructuring without having to do one...

There already is huge attrition. I also know a hard working core that is doing their hardest work right now to make HAMR successful so don't assume everyone is trying to find an exit.
