so, migrated to VDI and noticed that edge thinks I am in California and I am not so I assume thats where the cloud servers are. How does WF know where I am logging in from if using VDI?

It's not because of where you are, or where the horizon wave/vdi is located that you have logged into, it's the proxy servers, and they are located all over the US in different data centers. Thus, the reason why it changes, daily
Lol, VDI in the cloud. You think the people running the mess that is the VDI solution has made it to the cloud already? They aren't close to that...heck we can barely get anything in the cloud. They spent many millions on hardware in our data centers for VDI, just to eventually move to the cloud. Why do it right when you can do it twice and pay double?
Those are two unrelated issues. The VDI has nothing to do with your IP address. You still need to access the internet somehow in order to tap into the VDI. That's the location they track. You may see CA today, then tomorrow it might be South Korea
there are many different flavors of vdi right now but sounds like eventually we'll all be using them and using our own computers or dummy terminals/cheap Chromebooks to access. you can put in a request for one if you want. i use both regular and vdi
is vdi optional or will we be notified when we have access?
The more important question is do they care?
I'd answer no. The main issue at this point is security and since you're connecting over a secured connection to a machine that's located in a M$ data center, why would they care? The data is safe and can't be stolen since there's no laptop to secure.
your seriously can't figure it out? I will assume you are logging into a computer, desktop, laptop, dummy terminal, or otherwise and they are picking up your location from there. even if using your own computer and using VPN. they know your local IP and VPN IP.
