Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

If we lose more people, my team will become completely dysfunctional

Almost every round of cuts has been purely by the numbers. We’ve lost people we could afford to lose, but also people we badly needed. Those roles were never backfilled. If my team gets hit in the next round of layoffs, and it likely will, we’ll be reduced to a skeleton crew, missing some critical links. We’ve been close to breaking down as a team for a while now. The next round will be the tipping point.

Perhaps your team (that likely doesn’t exist since layoffs haven’t been what everyone here seems to think they are) is already ineffective, non-core and a cost center. Best of luck but I have yet to see a team collapse with the removal of dead weight.
