Who created the problems? The opaque bureaucracy confused reporting lines ? The inability to make decisions without overworked sanitizer corpo speak slide packs ? Not the BUs where money is made. Problem sits with our corporate management behaviours, solve that first.

When you let every BU run as if a seperate company that knows best, you will have problems. We are one company bcz that grouping of assets gives us knowledge and balance sheet strength, but also because our centralization and standardization allows us to leverage overhead functions required to run a business. Lettting the BUs all say they are special and this and that leads to customized work processes that aren't shared across BUs and thus drive up costs.
The reality is there are problems at corporate, but also problems in the BU's.
For every BU, including my one, I can name several other operators that are way more efficient at making money than we are.
