I don’t miss it one bit

Don’t feel life is over if USAA gives you the boot hopefully you get it with the severance. I know I was dumped because mine and my significant others medical. Seems a lot of people are laid off who had medical issues FMLA and used it minimally my veteran spouse is terminal and medications were expensive so fu-k you USAA I won.

Got a great w@h job with true work life balance my spouse is managing with our your insurance and getting their life prolonging medication. I am still a bit angry at how I was treated but alas that is big corp no better than citi, boa and should just admit it and stop pretending they give a sh-t life would be easier on employees.

All in all you did be a favor by doing me dirty but you are a fraud pretending to value the military.

All the people there take care of you first do not give no company your all, only give what they compensate you for and remember they have no loyalty. Keep you head up and learn to bullsh-t and be fake if you plan to stay no shame in playing the game to put food on your table and a roof over your head.

I agree, especially for those whose jobs are easily transferable to other companies. My only personal concern is that USAA is likely the highest paying company in San Antonio for my niche area of expertise. The other big players in San Antonio like H-E-B and Valero either don't offer jobs in my field or pay ~20-30% less than what USAA does for equivalent positions. (Granted, this after a series of career moves that enabled me to negotiate a higher salary than average for my position.)

Remote jobs are rarer and more competitive now, so replacing my income with another San Antonio-based employer would be nearly impossible. I'd either need to luck out and land a remote job, move to Austin (best case scenario) and upend my life and family/kids, or pivot into a different field for a period of time.

USAA isn't the end-all be-all, not by any stretch of the imagination. It's just really disheartening to see what used to be the premier, prestigious, gold-standard employer in San Antonio (he-l, even the country to a certain extent) fall so far.

The company I started at and the company I work for now share the same name, but they are vastly different companies.

Congratulations on the new job! Hopefully, the job market continues to improve so that everyone can find a way off this sinking ship.

Funny that just a few years ago, you would never find so many comments like this about USAA anywhere on the internet. Now, it seems it's all you see anywhere how USAA su-ks.

If this was a public company, its stock would have plummeted like crazy in the last few years, and you can bet the BoD would have replaced all senior management a long time ago. But, alas, as a private company, they can do whatever they want.

Well, you’re not wrong. And keep myself on the down low until I finish my courses. Once I have finished up, I will be long gone. I’ll be doing something that I truly enjoy, and it won’t be for these pricks.

For me uSAA was way worse than the big banks. Senior leadership are the most selfish I've worked with. Complete opposite of 'service'
