The leadership of this company is horrible. Anthem made the Nightly News due to their "ghost networks" of Doctors.....Makes me sick.

Use media, get on television if you can. Like the poor woman and the air ambulance. Believe me, I KNOW.
Well when you have nothing but time on your hands, and I do have time, you battle them. Currently I'm a year into fighting Anthem on paying something more than sub-pennies on the dollar for surgery that they agreed to cover, just out of network. After 7 months, they finally capitulated and agreed to pay in-network after I provided overwhelming data to show that they should. Now, for the last 6 months fighting to pay something more than a few hundred against 25K in my out of pocket costs. Looking for a lawyer soon, or use the media to pressure them. I didn't have to go bankrupt to pay this, I was fortunate to have the funds. But it was life altering surgeries, and the results already have a massive improvement in life. I will continue to persevere on this because I am in the right, and they know it. If I end up going with a lawsuit it will cost them so much more than the 25K, but they think I will just go away. I am not.
Oh one other comment. If you are told you will need air ambulance, there are some that are non-profit that will not come after you for lack of payment. But others will overcharge and come after everything you own. Do the research in your area, and know what services are covered with your insurance, and who are the best choices. Yes I was once peripherally involved with air ambulance services.
Good ole Anthem BCBS made yet another news headline tonight for air transport denials for medical emergencies.... Took two years for an Oregan family to win the claim denial battle after getting numerous outlets involved. And here is another one. Gotta come up with that $20 million compensation package somehow.... Plus, almost $30 million combined for the other Execs. https://www.denver7.com/news/investigations/not-medically-necessary-colorado-family-fights-back-after-94k-air-ambulance-bill
