How does mng feel about it?

@149 yes, I know multiple people whose days this week are much shorter now that they are commuting an hour or more each way. Gone are the days of logging in at 6:30 or 7:00 and staying online until 5:30 or 6:00, without taking a break for lunch. Back to commuting and losing time in traffic, wasting time getting from parking structures to workspaces and setting up, taking full lunch hours, and logging out at the end of the day to not look at work email again until at least 8:00 in the morning. Not to mention the wasted time with the "collaboration" throughout the day, at least for those who actually know people in their pulsepoints.
Yeah, we told you this would happen. You guys accepted the 1 day per week and now you are going to get 3 days. Then they will go to 5 days and you'll accept that. And then you'll come in one morning and they will let you go via a conference call.
I still don't understand why non-GBD resources are being forced to go into the small GBD offices in each state. There is absolutely no communication from GBD management to those non-GBD resources in those offices. Non-GBD resources are not included in any activities planned by GBD management at the PulsePoints. There is no non-GBD management at the locations. We don't work nor talk to the few GBD staff that do go into the office, and they don't have anything to do with the rest of us. It makes absolutely no sense!!!
@12n Hi Gloria M. You haven't changed one bit. I am a little surprised you didn't say we should make our beds every day before we leave for work. I remember that comment during your meeting held about a decade ago.....
@12n what do you mean fun time us over? It’s never been fun working here even when I can sit in my pajamas all day. What does WFH equate to “fun time”. Most remote workers actually work more hours. Productivity will probably go down in July when people are expected to be compliant to new policy.
@13g . Agree. It was same before the pandemic when I was in office 4-5x week. My team spread all over the country. Stayed in my little workspace, headphones on, and on calls all day. I said and still say little to anyone except hi to security, facilities folks, and fitness center staff. And still have zero team at my pulse point, nor anyone cross team I work with so no real collaboration.
Collaboration is code for Control - that is why you are in the office - "because I said so" - I have never trusted you and now I am dragging you in so I can make sure you know who is in control - and it is not you.
@13a At the office I go to it’s the same. No one except for the people who work for the state Medicaid speak to one another. People sit as far as they possibly can from each other. Or they are on calls the entire day with their headsets on. With my team scattered across the country I’m trying to figure out the in office collaboration plan. Who am I supposed to collaborate with. I don’t support Medicaid so it’s certainly not state Medicaid.
@12n Been going to the office for over a year now. Newsflash no one talks to each other and when they do it’s gossip. Don’t see how this is collaboration at all. Don’t know what I’d collaborate with the person sitting next to me on as we don’t do anything related to one another. This is just a concept that doesn’t work in reality. Koolaid drinker!
Finally! Fun time is over! Time to get up, get dressed and commute into work again! No crying about traffic or what to wear. We need more in person collaboration to increase productivity so my amazing bonus will be even bigger.
See you at office with a smile :)
@tm+1jx0zkgyw Protests on the news are isolated to a small area in downtown Los Angeles, nowhere near pulsepoints.
@tp+1jx0zkgyw that was announced prior to the rto announcement. So yes.
@tp It already is at the NYC office
@tp it’s already a thing after June 14
Too funny that they removed the Pulse article about this!!!!!!!! No one can disagree or question anything going on. They just remove unpopular news articles.
To the poster concerned about people seeing PHI on their computer since they are out in the open I suggest:
- Report the breach according to our training and policy
- You likely cannot identify by name the individual - since you don't know them, they did not respond to your request to collaborate - so be prepared to identify them as suggested below
- male - age somewhere between this and that - they looked tired so hard to tell
- wearing a T shirt 3 buttons - green - might have been blue - maybe a spaghetti stain on the front
- when asked politely "what are you doing -this is PHI - you shouldn't be looking at this - he responded with profanity that I am not comfortable repeating but it was only 2 words
- never saw him before- asked around but no one will talk to me - they all have headsets on and it's loud and they are on teams meetings
called me #unhappy
@tc Of course they removed the article because there were negative comments. But there were also some legit questions asked, which of course were ignored.
@ab I bet swiping our badge to exit a PulsePoint is next.
@cp Quarterly layoffs? They’re monthly now.
Do people in CA near the protests still have to go in? Not sure how close the offices are to those areas but you would think they would allow associates to stay home.
They removed the pulse article explaining the new RTO policy. Kudos to ppl who spoke out against it. The ELT is so thin skinned they couldn’t even address questions on if RTO was a data driven decision. The answer is it IS NOT. Gail is a coward
some spots have monitors - others don't - when has this place bothered to care if something was done right - they just demand it is done -
What about people who walk behind me and can see PHI on my screen - stand there and stare - what should we do about that -
@nw Does your PulsePoint not have desks with 2 monitors? That seems odd. Or is it more because your PulsePoint is overcrowded? Just curious.
I know a few employees with an approved virtual exemption from 50 miles outside of a Pulse point. If they change their mind for everyone to be hybrid (no exemptions) at a non-restricted pulse point. Do you think they would give all of them a choice to move near a non-restricted Pulse point or just layoff without any options? I would hate to see such incredible people be let go.
Most of us may not make it to the last quarter of this year.
Great point about workman's comp - I will be lugging the following - as many will:
- laptop
- 2 monitors ( if I need 2 at home I need them at work and they are large - so what about protecting PHI from people I don't know but need to "collaborate with" and anyone else that wanders through the area?
- headphones/earbuds, mouse, keyboard
extension cords and cables (Just in case)
- countless files I may need that I printed ( you sent me a printer at home and I used it)
- purse/backpack/lunch carrier/water bottle/laptop carrier or 2 ( remember 2 monitors)
*and my trolley since I can't carry all this kr-p all the time and need to lug it from parking to building to whatever freaking floor I am put on -
RINSE AND REPEAT AT THE END OF THE DAY -
- time to set up all this kr-p - time to tear down all this kr-p
- sit in traffic for close to 2 hrs both ways and don't forget the weather
Am I supposed to leave my house at 5:30 am to get there and be ready to go by 8 then start tearing it all down at 5pm so I can get home at 7:30
I can't wait
Returning to the topic of the original post, when you have injuries to your back, shoulders, arms or wrists from carrying all of the office contents back and forth every day, make sure to file that as a worker's comp claim because that is what it is.....!!!

I've gotta say, blaming associates in India for our US- based executive team decisions was already mind boggling. Blaming them for the state of the US economy is straight delulu.
Have you talked to anyone at CGS about their choices or options, because here's what you're missing. If they had better options, they wouldn't be working for...us....just the same as...you.
Their economy does have one thing better than ours though. They don't have a for-profit model of healthcare. Oh, the irony.
I'm saying this with kindness, no one is saying you don't have choices other than you. Hard choices, yes. But still choices. They're making the same hard choices you are, while working for the same thankless company. Totally fair to be frustrated and angry. It's just focused on the wrong people.
You can't compare the lives of onshore workers with offshore. Offshore workers have choices.
Offshore economy is booming with companies shipping our jobs to them. Their career futures are generally better.
It's not a fair comparison, onshore economy is shrinking and every company is making money off American consumers to outsource jobs. Job posted here may not even go to you if someone is better in another country.
Just so no one crashes out over what policies affect india -
India associates, director equivalent and above, also have the 3 day in office rule. They also sit in 2 hour traffic both ways. It's also been dangerously hot even at night, with most working until midnight their time, if not later. They also have the same sh---y laptops and equipment we have here. If it's happening here, it's happening there and likely worse. There's a reason they have sleeping pods in their buildings and we don't. I've never understood why people assume that they're treated better than we are.
While we may disagree with the offshoring strategy, we should also realize that by in large these people are in the same boat as us. They also get rifed. They also go to the office. Just people feeding their families like we all are. You can't be mad at someone for taking a job made a available in their country. Take issue with the leaders who created and perpetuate that strategy. The person doing your job for pennies on the dollar isn't your enemy. The strategy is.
How do I feel about it? I resigned.
Are folks in India, Philippines, and other countries going back into the office as well? How is this fair for US based folks? Our members and providers are already complaining of hearing background noises from folks working in other countries. Now they’re going to hear background noises from us too sitting so close together. It’s obvious that SLT never worked as a frontline before or ever put the members or providers first. This is going to break the camel’s back, among all the other issues we have going on. We’re so fragmented here and everyone just punt to someone else. Being back in the office is not going to help. It’s more distracting, people who can’t keep their voices down, people gossiping all day, and distractions all around!
Years ago when we were full time in office we had cubes with walls where we could establish ourselves and store all of our stuff in locked drawers. There was “some” privacy. It wasn’t horrible. But now, everyone is seated shoulder to shoulder as if we’re in a call center, schlepping stuff in and out. It’s loud and not conducive to working with teams across multiple states. If you’re going to require in office for all, at least make it a workable environment. They know this, but they don’t care.
You can tell by how poorly it’s being implemented that it’s coming from Gail and her ELT put low effort into supporting it. Why start in the middle of a month? Why put such vague answers to your FAQs? No one wants to touch this stupid vision that Gail has. Hopefully she is out of here sooner rather than later
I have worked here nearly 20 years. Nearly 15 of those I was at home. Why do I now have to come in? This place used to be one of flexibility. They cared for us; as long as we were doing well, we got to stay at home. There is none of that now. As you hire new people, or even post COVID, have them come back in. A lot of us with YEARS of experience who do not have compete clauses are looking, interviewing, and going to other companies.
Our health coverage gets more expensive, we do not get our full A.I.P., our merit is not even enough to keep up with cost of living. At least let us stay home, and reduce the wear and tear/tear, and added expense on our cars. Out of all my years here, I have NEVER and I mean NEVER disliked a CEO and leadership team as much as the one we have now.
@cp director or director equivalent E14 or above. You don’t have to be a manager to be included. I’m not ever going to try and get a promotion now. Pulse article says they aren’t there aren’t plans to roll it out to the rest of us but I can’t believe a word they say.
I am not a people leader but I have to go in
It currently says it applies to people leaders and above. Considering how this company rolls, I would expect next year everyone else will be expected in office 3 days a week. By the end of the year with what I expect to have quarterly layoffs, people retiring or quitting, there should be plenty of space.
I'm not going to drive over two hours a day to sit in an empty office. If they want people to resign so be it.
