Good call. Glad I survived the layoff. Fear monger
Any update?
The reduction in staff is simply a play that KKR and Heinpark are doing to make the company look extremely more profitable and successful with less staff. It makes the company seem more efficient so they can put Belk up for sale in a year or so and find a buyer. I do agree tho liquidation is not going to happen as long as KKR and Heinpark own the company. They will sell before it gets to that point.

The company is not going to shut down before the end of the year lmao. KKR and Heinpark invested half a billion in the company not even a year ago. If the company liquidated they lose everything they invest. And since they now own Belk it’s even more unlikely a liquidation occurs anytime soon. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant “before EOY” lol.
if you are:
support lead
asset protection lead
HR lead
those positions will eventually be eliminated.
Belks is living on borrowed time. Enjoy having a position as the end is near. Heard it from someone in Charlotte HQ before EOY. It was a great ruŋ...save this post
Visual corporate roles and in store support roles.. I could also see them making bigger regions to reduce regionals and support staff....volumes are smaller, so adding a few more stores to a region makes sense
This is doubtful, at least at corporate. They are bleeding people from RTO and it will be even worse in August when out of state employees have to move or be in weekly. At least 4 planner openings that I know of, plus a couple Buyers and a bunch at asst levels. Fewer left every week with any kind of institutional knowledge. Several sr and vp level people are actively applying to other companies including Shutterfly and Lowes.
