Why is nobody considering that option? What am I missing?

The communications is at work again. We want to be informed not influenced. We want to succeed but not in the manner that we have been running the company and how about a long trend to the better before saying we are performing again.
I do agree that many of the people on this site appear to only want the worst case scenario. I'm not sure if they want layoffs so they can, hopefully, avoid being laid off and then feel good again? Or if it's just a place to complain? I don't get it.
The company is far from perfect - but for many on here, I feel like they forget they do employ us. For better or for worse, our personal success is tied to the company's ability to deliver and compensate us. Being critical is understandable - but for constantly complaining and seemingly hoping for layoffs? Come on now.
@195 Why? A person who is not "a CDW Management Hack" can't think clearly and tell others to stop being paranoid?
I love how anything positive or even neutral on this site is accused of being "from HR" or clearly "management". Is it really hard to believe there is good and bad about CDW? Not just bad.

Gosh stop living in fear of the unknown, nothing you can do
So stealth layoffs.
First of all, the company is performing again, so no need for layoffs.
(keep in mind "layoffs" imply a mass movement to let people go to save costs. CDW will always remove individuals as needed due to performance, that is not layoffs).
Second - when we have had layoffs, we have never "announced" something is coming in advance.
Third - CDW has only hand a handful of layoffs EVER. As in, in the 40+ year history, there have been like 6 rounds of layoffs. If we keep performing well, we don't see layoffs again for a long time.
Fourth - There is plenty to complain about in the company and specific roles and/or departments have reasons to not be happy (especially where bad leaders exist). But there is no reason to scare others with the threat of layoffs when they just are not happening right now.
Fifth - If anything is happening right now, we seem to be letting go of specific Executives (VPs and Directors) that are not aligned with their leader and/or the vision.
