Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Is Fidelity the best choice for our 401k accounts?

I'm sure many of you saw the email from Fidelity that talked about changes to our plans. From what I read they are doing away with the personalized planning and advice program. So if you elected to utilize the service, you will be disenrolled and will have to make your own changes to investments. Looking at the Fidelity layoff forum, there is mass layoffs going on over there, and there was a lot of talk about mismanagement of funds that caused losses that resulted in the current layoff. So I ask, are we really being given the best possible benefit from using Fidelity, or is this just another benefit that is going to be slowly stripped away?

@ase+1 speaks the True True. Just buy an Index fund and leave it alone.

If you don't know what to do, put your money in an S&P 500 Index fund and leave it there. You'll be fine in the long run.

Every finance company is having problems, given the current state of the economy. I'm currently with Fidelity, but I've been at the others. Its all the same. You should be managing your own money, making the decisions based on your research and not what some 20 sumthin kid out of college thinks.
