Although I know that life outside of this company would be better for me, anxiety is through the roof. What makes my anxiety even worse is the fact that among those who get cut usually there are number of great employees who actually did their job. I wish I was wrong.

Don't worry. Life will still go on even got layoff and you will find it is better to leave seagate than stay and wait for another wave. Many of my previous coworkers found job and felt much better after leave stx.
Ask your manager. He/she already has in his/her hand.

Why over worried? Just get on with your life if got layoff. Even if you stay also no guaranteed no 2nd wave coming
Most workers changed jobs at least twice this year. Have you? Time to seriously look somewhere else. Seagate is sinking.
