Tired of these “leaders” who just say yes to everything, play politics, and only care about managing up. They sugarcoat problems, pretend everything’s fine, and hide the real issues instead of fixing them. Meanwhile, the people doing the actual work are left cleaning up the mess. Get rid of these dogshit leaders, EH.

@fw It's been happening since 2020. Since JD came into the company. He purged brand design leaders that cost too much $ ( highest paid on the spreadsheet)... sold them out to build GT ( WE ALL KNOW THIS IS WAS AND THE WORLD KNOWS THIS IS WAS A FAIL) . Nike is not a tech company. Once he culled the first round of Brand Design VP's and their SD's... Those who who survived they layoffs, jumped ship for other opportunities ( eh hem.. ADOPT Agency/VF/Allbirds/Deckers/Crocs - the talent all got snapped up & are ki-ling it). JD scared the sht out of everyone leftover. They didn't want the work load but also knew they are too talented to sit around waiting for their number to be called as well. He gave ZERO Fcks about design and athletes... had zero confidence in design (WTF, we were #1 in the WORLD!) - Those who were laid off, many whom worked closely with Nike's athletes drove not only good innovation but great design and fed consumer thirst.
The current core design group is not even up to par with those that left us since 2020-2021. The talent, the athlete relationships, design ethos - it doesn't exist any longer. EH knows this - it's so odd that he hasn't hired the people we need to INNOVATE & BE DIFFERENT

Agree but it was going to naturally happen soon anyway. They’re in their 50’s and 60’s. We’ve been in a generational change the past few years.

Gatekeeping is SOOOO anti-Team it drives me crazy.

Nike is a Sports and Fitness company... compete? Sure to a degree in "real life".

But inside the Berm? It's a TEAM... act like one, don't gatekeep.

These weird "it's about me and my status and ego" are exactly what is wrong.

It is actually very true. All the leaders that i am around only say yes to bad ideas, gatekeep or hide information and steal ideas from actual smart people and present as their own and its very disappointing. However, in the long run those bad ideas will fail and eventually they will be found out (hopefully)
