All Intel employees regardless of GEO should get the same severance (cost adjusted for GEO) This would mean that the best packages, would apply to all.

mF you work like 3 and a half days week in the UK per royal decree
Lol, yanks whining about how little your government cares about you is super boring, do something about it and stop whinging about others being in a better position.
So following that logic, should all sites and geos incur job cuts proportionately? That certainly didn’t happen in 2016, and it probably won’t happen this time either!
Your posts got voted down so, you probably won't have any luck getting the laws changed. Since you are so confident though, we'll look for your name in the next election.
In other words, these, "At will," laws can be changed. They did not come down from Mt. Sinai on stone tablets...
WOW!!! Obviously, IQ's have dropped...I understand employment law well. As you may not know, laws can AND do change. Please advance your legal scholarship and look into it. ;)
Jeez buddy, you are way off. Your employment is, 'at will'. That means you go and you get paid based on your own free will. If you don't like the pay/job, then quit. Why should a company pay a worker after they stop working? If you want a guaranteed job, then try to negotiate a contract with a severance clause.

Yes! You made my point. Some governments protect their workers better than the US! Intel can clearly afford to pay this but they wont. Either way, Intel management can save all their B$ about ethics, because if they can't treat their US employees (as a US company) the same in in other countries, their, "ethics," are BS. It's all smoke and mirrors. They talk about ethics, but it all comes down to it, they don't care. ALL that matters is the shareholders. As an employee, you are < 0. This is obvious, but their rhetoric says otherwise.
Sorry, but no. There are government regulations that dictate the packages in some geos. If you think that everybody should get the best package required in any country that Intel operates, then that's not gonna happen. Some of them are crazy.
Keep l!cking those boots! I am sure you are doing well at Intel, sycophants usually do!
o.k. we like your plan. Your next assignment is to go to every country where Intel has a presence, get the labor laws changes and find a way to balance market price of labor as well. Your key results will include this. If you don't complete this by end of year, you will get a BE and will be fire. gl.
That CAN be changed...
In a Utopian frame of reference that would be great... but, in reality we have differing country laws as well as supply/demand differences for human capital. Life isn't fair, it sucks and then you die.
Not to mention, that the propaganda coming from executive leaders, keeps mentioning, "Family." Well, we all know that's BS, because if we were family, we would stop treating US workers (perhaps others) as the red headed step children! TREAT us the same!
@eds+1jwtXhKB
Do you understand what, "cost adjusted for GEO," means? Evidently not...
How is saying, that Germany gets x number of weeks/year of service and that should also apply to the US and India? The pay would be different because, it's much cheaper in some locations, but why is this controversial..seems like common sense, not to mention ethical.
@OP Absolutely bullsh-t
