Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Is Elevance becoming Carelon?

Are they getting rid of the new name Elevance and going to Carelon for the company name now?

Anything with Carelon is a disaster. Starting with Carelon global solutions in the Philippines followed by Carelon in India

It would seem it's time to change the name again. Hellevance already has a bad reputation. Heard that from a friend on the Hill.

They should have invited us to a focus group on the name change. Within 5 seconds we all would have said "Elephants", "Evilants", "Hellivance", "Avalanche", "Sh!tmyp@nt$".

@b2 the name change was intentional. Anthem has negative connotations due to being sued. When they announced that name change I immediately thought there was a big class action lawsuit coming down the pike they were trying to get ahead of. Looks like they might need to change the name again as the reputation under Elevance isn’t much better.

Yes. But not because of any name change. It's just turning into as big of a joke.

@ap To this day when I tell someone I work for Elevance I get a blank stare. I follow it up by saying Anthem and they know exactly who I’m talking about. They lost recognition with the name change.

I have an idea. They should change the name to Anthem.

Providers still think I am saying 'Elephants'... Ugh! I have to keep spelling the name out to them. Name change to Elevance was the d-mbest idea ever....!!!!

@a7 you’ve got to say it with a British accent, then it starts making sense. Oh wait, it’s d-mb either way.

I could see them going changing the name to Carelon. It makes more sense than Elevance. What the heck does Elevance mean?

Highly doubtful, but at the same time Carelon is becoming the main revenue stream for the org. Will be interesting to see what happens if Pete takes over from Gail and pushes for larger integration. But a 2nd big name change would cause more confusion in the market. I see the traditional health insurance business continuing to get smaller and more streamlined, with more investment into Carelon.

Just rename to Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey Circus and get it over with. Perfect name for this current cluster.
