Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

The constant stress is unbearable

Even at the start of the weekend I'm thinking about work and Sunday nights are pure dread. I'm starting to realize that if a job’s making me this anxious, it’s not worth it. No paycheck even begins to cover that damage.

You are certainly not alone in these thoughts and feelings. I’ve been with the company for almost two decades and never seen it this bad. Never experienced stress and dissatisfaction with a job at this level. Never seen senior leadership so tone deaf and disconnected. I’ve tried everything I can to soldier through it but unfortunately I think it’s time to pursue endeavors elsewhere.

Nobody happy. Lexmark deal is ... delayed. Employees stressed. Even the Dividend is sad! Happiness is hard to find at xerox today... Customers are very impressed with the f1 sponsorship though.

This place has been failing for at least 10-12 years. Straight down. Stop whining on here and do something. It will not change. Look at your comp year over year, then look at the EC comp. Then look at revenue and the balance sheet. Thats all the info you need. I will tell you anyone over 45 will struggle to find something else, so look while employed.

The sympathy for these people still employed there is questionable at best.
Some people are extremely sympathetic toward anyone having a rough time.

While others could care less if you leave or not. They feel you should have seen the writing on the wall years ago.

Regardless. Today the first thing you do is Resign and get out of this quick sand pit.

It’s ruining your health and ruining your attitude toward life. No amount of money, or comfort in a position is worth that. No possible way.

If it hasn’t happened to you yet. It’s coming. No doubt at all about it.

Get out of this industry and cut your losses. You will never regret it, that you can be sure of.

Know exactly how you feel. It's so not worth it but you feel stuck after being with the company so long. For me it not even the work but moreso the egotistical, bi polar, narcissistic boss. Someone, someday has to do something about her. Surely the higher ups will figure it out. How can someone with a certain position get away with being the cause of such great and committed employees leaving? It's so unfair.

Although the definition suggests something more... defined. Unbearable is a very vague word at the company formerly known as xerox. From top to bottom there are many degrees of what is and not bearable.

Felt that way for a good 6 months to a year at least… finally got over it, and then they decided to do more lay offs. These id--ts got rid of one of the few techs in our area that actually took pride in his work and customer service. Moral of the story is , they ain’t worth the stress, find something better while you have the motivation !

I know exactly how you feel. It’s not a healthy environment. Most days when I’m in the office I look around and think my god why am I still here. The pressure, the ethics of leadership who you never see unless someone is in town. The doing the jobs of many and being asked to do too much.
These are all reasons why I’m quiet quitting. I never knew it was a thing until I decided that’s what I’m doing!

I feel the same way sometimes - especially more recently and after a few episodes that made me realize this is not the company for me because of my interactions with others. The damage is irreversible now. I’ve seen enough for sure. But - I try to take it easy and say to myself it’s just a job. I have to keep telling myself it’s money coming in and that yeh, it’s a job. No job is worth the stress. I also tell myself others have it worse ya know? Could I quit? Sure I could - I’m blessed to be financially good for a long time so it’s not a concern, but I know I’m a professional and I know the worth I bring to this (awful) company. But yeh man - it doesn’t change the fact that when the weekend starts we think about Monday. Don’t let your health suffer. I’m trying to not go through the same. Stay strong. I’m not sure what’s causing my stress - I actually do, it’s the utter number of mo--ns at this firm, lack of basic etiquette, lack of decency, and lack of any basic understanding of what’s going on, that compounds the situation. I came from a management role to this role and I have to say I’m stunned as to what I see. This is what’s causing the issue. I could easily call people out but I choose not to- I’m just gonna do my work, I know the quality it’s worth and I’ll keep looking for other work to replace this. Stay strong buddy.
