As much as I like winning, working for a competitor, the original announcement of 800 Midland based employees was shocking. The adjusted number down to 200 is still terrible for anyone working for an energy company and terrible for Midland. Those 200 jobs are not going to be absorbed into the Midland workforce and it seems continued employment will be the less attractive option. Based on the buzz words being thrown around last quarter when reduction in spending was first announced. The remaining work force will be doing 2-3x their current work load all with a forced smile to try and stay in the good graces of whatever management is left. I feel for everyone in Midland whose lives are suddenly on hold while people who know nothing about your work ethic make decisions that will impact your lives. I’ve been through this in my career and don’t wish it on anyone. I would be hoping for a severance package based on the poor leadership of CVX, there’s nowhere to go but down honestly. XOM steam rolled any momentum and chance of MA success in an industry where timing is everything, CVX Executives made every wrong decision at every turn to end up in this position. Good luck to everyone fighting for your dignity in what no doubt is snake pit right now. On the bright side, Midland has a COSTCO ready to open that minus those 200 jobs wouldn’t have made it off an idea board somewhere. Working for COSTCO is probably not a bad option should you find yourself without a job next month. Godspeed!

Yes, TDS is an incurable mental illness, and sorry you don't get to redefine terms, rewrite history and deny biology nor any other science, he, her, she, they, them and all that jazz, Buh-bye!
TDS (Trump Devotion Syndrome) is an incurable mental illness. The sooner you lot drop off the face of the earth, the better.
@ef, yea he is, apparently he has TDS and it's incurable
@ec Ha ha, he's a total wack job
@dz - The MAGA downvoter wrote that, he is beyond help, but thanks for your concern.
@dg Seek help. You definitely have mental issues.
@av, What was the plan for Kameltoe Hairless getting elected, replace everyone possible with illegals who would have invariably been allowed to keep flooding the country?
Listen to actions, not words. Decline curves in CVX Permian acreage are about to accelerate and acreage is not as good as touted.
Someone has to explain to me how a BU like Midland, talked up for continually for company-leading increasing production, is going to do so with fewer employees.
It all started with a Red Bucket on a Zombie Well sometime around Halloween a few years ago. I knew I shouldn’t have dressed up as the Bucket that year.
@a4 LT team literally said they had a plan for each candidate being elected. This is the plan for this administration. Their forecasts included this administration’s wackadoodle dictates…and this is what we have.
I can’t wait for managers who never had to do the 2x to 3x amount of work to look us in the eye and explain why we are not getting “exceeds.”
If I have to start working Im going to be p!ssed
"The remaining work force will be doing 2-3x their current work load"
So what will the do the other 36 hours of their 40 hours work week?
There are few guarantees in life. Death, taxes, and Chevron employees not working hard.
It’s everywhere. I’m enjoying their 6 month mental health crisis and am looking forward to many more years of it.

I was going to get a job there after I retire but I went to shop a couple of Sundays ago and the place was so crowded I can't work at a place that is so stressful :)
doubtful you'll see former CVX employees at Costco
The OP's post had literally nothing to do with politics or the current political climate yet some are so severely afflicted with terminal debilitating TDS that they are determined to infect every thread with some unrelated whining nonsense. Keep it up though, it's quite amusing as we all know that's not the true source of your ills.

@a3 This had nothing to do with the oil price.
The problem is that oil is $60/bbl and going lower due to the coming recession as a result of the Tarrifs. This means less drilling and exploration. Perhaps folks in Midland shouldn’t have voted for the insane man currently in the White House.
