Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Information Security Cutting 13%

CISO stated 13% cuts today - opening voluntarily separation with no constraints, said they will buy you a cake if you take voluntary separation. Stay Classy Intel

13% is a lot of people and I am sorry for anyone who gets let go. The end result is that 87% of people will still have a job for now. I never understood why Intel stresses the entire workforce for weeks or months during these layoffs when the vast majority of people will be fine. It is bad for everyone.

CISO = Chief Information Security Officer, and InfoSec is a subset of IT. As a 2016 ERP-er, I’d be surprised if InfoSec has different marching orders than the IT department as a whole.

Would be interested to hear from InfoSec people and non-InfoSec people in IT on this.

I took VSP 8 years ago; wish the cake was retroactive. :)
