Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Ask at all meetings

"Great to hear that RTO is working I am sure that with a strong, ethical company like U.S. Bank, that we ensure vendors and contractors are held to our same standards in order to achieve efficiency, security and to motivate each other! How are remote contractors overseas embracing this? Are we ensuring they go into a local hub and work fro there, maybe the hub of the contracting company?"

Always amazes me how upper management always gives themselves away in such a salty manner. Using the word "grownups" is so cringe it hurts.

Tell me you're C-suite without telling me your C-suite.

The requirement is for all offshore contractors to be in office when working. This is a security and compliance requirement and usually part of contract requirement for the sourcing company. It's always been the case and they don't get to moan and complain like people here. If they don't like it they move somewhere else, like all grownups would.

@e1+1jwd300hk I know an offshore engineer that travels multiple hours a day to comply with RTO as a contractor. They haven't specified how many days a week it was required as of yet, but I'm decently positive we lost a really good engineer to another contracting company/US based employer because of the inflexible RTO policies.

And they wonder why our systems are out of date and su-k.

I’m not sure if it is the same for all departments, but in mine, contractors are not allowed to wfh and have to be in office 5 days per week. Apparently this is just a case of rules for US thee…

Exactly. Had they been worried about running the company instead of stripping me of my role as a remote employee, they could have avoided questions concerns, and anger about RTO. Great point.

Yes, it is a requirement by US Bank from all vendors to have contractors work 3 days from office at a minimum and some are required to work the full 5 day week.
