Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

The truth about AT&T

I spent 22 years at AT&T before I was laid off and came to CenturyLink. An AT&T acquisition is not a good thing for the employees of the acquired company. They will slash management right away because the way they manage is different.

You you guys think that link to success is horrible; wait till you see MSOC or whatever it’s derivative is called now! For a technician, AT&T was a horrible place to work. I&R was a great place to be for a long time. Then came the job title of prem tech. That position was a revolving door.

Call center titles like assignments, programming, etc etc will be outsourced to the Philippines. AT&T has floors of call center workers in the Philippines working for Sykes, Accenture, and Concentrix.

Do you think the union will save you? Thanks again! AT&T could care less about CWA or IBEW.

AT&T is a ruthless company that will gut this place. I will probably just retire. I will also be happy to see management walked out the door. Serves them right!

I know a few long timers at AT&T and can confirm it's going from bad to worse ... believe it or not. So glad to be outta there and happy / sane again.

“ATT plans in hiring Premise techs for a short while. Once the contractors are up to speed, expect more layoffs”

Just throw the union contract out the window and replace everyone with contractors. Sounds like a solid business plan. I’m sure there will be no pushback.
