Berating the freshly rifed for not immediately coming on a site to report their fate is, uh, one way to out yourself as a self absorbed D.
Can you give other associates time to process what just happened? A slap in the face. A cold shoulder. Financial uncertainty. So yeah, let's make sure while people are having one of the worst days of their lives, we make them feel worse by complaining that they haven't informed random people of their fate. People they don't know, who are actually only worried about themselves.
Mind you, if you're on this site on a rif day and you don't have the classic 15 minute pop up meeting with your boss and HR, you are probably fine for that round of rif roulette.
Show some empathy for the people who are losing their livelihoods while you just "want to be prepared".
We. Are. All. Subject. To. RIF. We are all vulnerable for any number of (manufactured) reasons. The answer to which department is rifing is always...all of them at any time. We all now work on a 2 week theoretical contract basis. You don't have to make someone else feel sh---y to realize that.
If you want to be rifed, great. If you don't, stay strong. But do not come on here simply because you're curious and then bash people for not giving YOU information. Maybe people want to inform their own families first...like you probably would were you rifed.
Which departments for 6/26?
@zn+1jw9vqmpb why would you not want to share info- it is the whole point of this website.
i want to also know which depts were impacted - departments not the names of people - knowing which dept is important - it's not uncommon that an "essential department performing an essential function" -those functions will either be passed onto to other people in other departments or we find out they are eliminated and therefore "not really essential" -
@yt If you want to know which departments were impacted ask you manager. Its ridiculous that anyone would ask another person who has just received life changing info to provide any details. This screams insensitivity and selfishness!!!!!
to @th Why?- why the heck not - because people should know areas that actually impacted - it speaks volumes about the future - especially for people who think "they will never touch my dept" yes they will - funny people wants dates of the next RIF but not sharing the depts effected
@th Why?
So many RIF dates, it's becoming hard to remember. This is the sign of a healthy company.
it would be appreciated if people would post the dept that had RIF's
Can confirm they did happen last Thurs. 3 days ago.
How do we find out about upcoming RIF’s? And do you know what departments or locations?
Sorry, I meant Thursday, 5/29. I've already heard about 6/26.
You mean 6/26?
