Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I’ve been too frustrated to care if I get kicked to the curb

Getting laid off would probably feel like a relief at this point. I’ve been here too long. This job has worn down my health and taken a big chunk of my life. No paycheck can make up for everything it’s cost me.

God I hope you are my leader. They are the worst. If they got laid off and I got to start that would be amazing. How do you folks deal with a horrible leader?

COP will destroy your life force. Leave if you can.

If you struggle here, you are really going to struggle in the outside world. All-in-all, we have it good here. Our company isn't in growth mode or innovate mode, but typically in maintain mode (except on the fringes with some new technology). That means we have a slower burn for change, which is maybe why we are where we are with CEP.

I don't think there are many jobs out there where the person doing it wouldn't say the same thing.
If you do leave, you are very lucky to leave from a place that is going to offer a pretty good severance.

Yet you had no problem taking that fat pay check for all these years. You enjoyed it.
