Clearance!!!

Hello Belk Corporate!

I hope this message finds you well and perhaps enjoying a cup of coffee (or two)! I have a burning question from one of our loyal customers who has been doing a bit of shopping archaeology in your clearance section. They’re curious: when might we finally see the end of that clearance from three years ago?

Are we waiting for a historic sale or perhaps a clearance time capsule ceremony?

They have to mark out of stock which is a huge hit to the financial statements in inventory and margin. They don’t recognize these on the statements until they actually happen

Many customers complain about this daily at our store. They also say it’s filthy and doesn’t feel like a department store anymore! I always try to clean on down times but we need a massive effort!

I would worry more about normal things. How much loŋger till this store closes? The rest? How can I keep working till then? Easier to worry about trivial store clearances than1-2 years out when it's all kaput

Goodwill is what it’s turned into!

The more goods you have on the books, the more the company looks like it is worth. That's business 101. It does not matter if it's a $3.00 shirt for 2022, it's pricetag says $42.50 that's what Belk corpoarte says it's worth!!!!
