Auto ILR is the area that is being impacted the most. Not necessarily by AI but customers who file online. Express will also reduce in size and more claims will go to Complex. Obviously in the next 5 years or so there will be significant impacts.

Yes it is about eliminating repetitive.roles not off shoring them. AI is being used in every part of economy from medicine to manufacturing . It would only make sense to use it in insurance too. For all those that claimed their job was boring and anyone could do it-they were right.

@e8 I think the point being made was replacing jobs, instead of sending a job to India, AI replaces the human. I believe the term used at SF is straight through processing in claims. It is already being used for certain claim payments, it will be expanded for simple liability decisions and payments of estimates and rental bills that are submitted.

According to Source Advisors, many insurers, along with their peers in financial services, have increased R&D technology investments in the last few years,⁷ enabling a shift from maintenance of costly legacy services — which by some estimates consumes well over half of insurers’ IT budgets — to more innovative pursuits. In fact, Gartner research shows that a full 40% of insurers predict decreases in their legacy infrastructure and data center investments in 2025.⁸

Technology partners are making autonomous solutions more accessible than ever. Leading platforms and InsurTechs offer both consumer-facing solutions and enterprise-ready options that fit any carrier's scale. Cloud-based AI and SaaS models enable cost-effective adoption of agentic AI, while insurance-specific language models (both LLMs and SLMs) are maturing rapidly. This enables carriers to blend external innovations with internal capabilities, following the successful pattern they established in digitizing underwriting and claims processes.

Hearing same thing. Hearing Express going away. Hearing they are trying to reduce the number of employees. Probably all due to AI. Hearing lots of changes coming. No one knows if this year or next or what is coming. Employees are in the dark as usual.
