Some of you will hate it, but the best solution is to Unionize! Collectively, we would have the ability to force these bozo's hands. (at least in some things) Let them try to replace us. Managers running things..lolol! The place would collapse in a week. A union wouldn't be perfect, but better than we have now. Maybe, we could even get management to make hiring/promotion/layoff decisions solely based solely on qualifications! Now, that's a noble idea!

Never happen, you all screwed us in the 90s
If you are a technician in the fab unionizing is the only way to get respectable pay and getting the tools, training, procedures and equipment we need. Otherwise managers and leaders will do nothing and Intel will continue with poor quality issues. Engineers, people in cubical and work from home don't realize how cr---y the technician job can be and they keep this company going
good point by you
The greatest thing about America is that there is no need to start a union in order to improve how an employer is treating you. Instead, you just pack your bags any moment you want and move on to a better one.
That's why I saw some high up legal guy on a social job site. His skills include "Union Prevention." I don't even like working for a company that employs someone like that. Hope he is RIFed.
I was against unions in the past but realistically it would be nice to see this get some traction. I would be on board for sure.
At will employment. This means if you don't like the company or how they treat the workers you can put in your notice and go work someplace else. Vote with your feet.
Or you could try and create a union. Let's say it passes. Your wages and treatment won't get any better and the union will skim dues from your pay check and use it to go to Vegas and spend it in strip clubs and the Chicken Ranch.
I was never in favor of unions until 2015/2016 when I witnessed BK's treatment of employees. Now I feel differently.
G*d, I hope you folks aren't engineers!!! LOLOL "If there's a problem with something, just walk away.." Nah, don't try to fix or improve it, no RCCA, (that's an engineering term that is standard in the industry. This is for you Intel career engineers that only know INTC acronyms), just throw in the towel and give up. Well, running up the white flag sure seems to be the Intel way!
We already have DEI distorting the hiring away from a true meritocracy... why not add a union and add seniority and work guarantees to fugg it up even better.
Yeah sure, unions will fix everything. Unions are the perfect solution, if you live in a vacuum without competition and with ethical union leaders (if such a thing even exists).
Unions have proven to be more greedy and corrupt than the companies they claim to protect their members from.
Ignorance is bli$$ You do realize that nuclear power reactor operators, nurses/nurse practitioners, teachers, airline pilots etc..not just construction workers are usually unionized?
Meh, 1800’s solutions belong in the past. Construction work still needs unions, nobody else does.
BTW, Unions don't have to promote solely on basis of seniority. Intel workers could create their own union bylaws the better reflect merit based promotion, while also protecting older workers. there is nothing to say we cant vary from outdated union practices.
