Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Nearing 50 – time to move on

No amount of money could convince me to stay any longer. I have no interest in enduring yet another reorg, more stress, endless overtime, or bad management. Why would I feel any differently? The paths to advancement have long been closed. As far as we're concerned, the company is shrinking, and from where I stand, there's nothing left to strive for - no new opportunities, nothing left to learn. At this stage, I’d gladly take less pay for a role at a small, cozy company, ideally far removed from this industry.

Now the age of discontent is dropping. Used to be only ‘quiet quitters’ at 55+. Now under 50. Pretty soon Chevron will be only favored TAMU grads who quit at 35.

Good for you. At some point, you have made enough money and no longer need to put up with a sinking ship like Chevron.

I’m past 50 and my thick pension is why I stay here. I’m not letting the re--rdation get to me on a daily basis, which is why I can work with așșclowns on a daily basis.
