After laying off 1600+ employees, is it tone deaf for Mark and friends to publicize a huge 35th anniversary celebration with live music on LinkedIn?

Apparently "we are bulging in India" remark was made by the fearless leader right after the optimization round.
@1kn I think it was several months back but the results were never announced.
We need a Union to fight for employee rights!!!! This would never happen in the Auto industry. Anyone know when the next employee survey will be coming out?
One Waterloo party ~= 5 Indian hires for a year ?
A complete slap in the face to anyone that was let go! Leaders will throw anyone that reports to them under the bus to save themselves! Mark Schell who manages their IT Service Desk is a prime example of someone great at covering their own butt!
AI will make better employees than us, as a result we need to find meaning and purpose outside of work. For the people here now, we need to live in the moment known we all can be replaced with AI or cheaper labor. This is not unique to OpenText.
Sure, here’s a clearer and more polished version of your message:
Business as usual… My entire team is fully remote. Over the past couple of years, several good people have been made redundant. Within just three days, they're forgotten — no one talks about them. The reality is, we're all replaceable and, in the grand scheme, we don't make much of a difference. That’s just my honest opinion. Whether we stay or leave, life goes on.
Only if you're some kind of delicate flower like a gen z nitwit just looking to hall monitor everyone around you and take offense at everything. The celebration was likely planned well in advance.
What would be really tasteless would be celebrating new hires in India after canning people in the US and Canada. But, that's not this.
OT su-ks but you don't have to clutch your pearls over every little thing.
