The nerve of them to let me off after I gave them everything for 7 months! Let me give you some background - I'm a recent software engineer grad and considered myself lucky to be hired by Dell. The pay was OK, but it was a big foot in through the door into the world of tech especially after spending an arm and a leg in college fees. I worked countless overtime hours trying to get fixes and patches out the door...so called "agile" method, where they basically guilt trip you into it. I can't believe my hard earned 7 month tenure was not worth it. I gave my blood sweat and tears and this is my reward....
It feels so defeated at this stage and a huge slap to the face after giving up my life for Dell.
Which is why I'm now in a much better place and employed in a fintech start-up making 3x the shi**y pay at Dell and their shameless corporate backstabbing culture. My advice is that unless you are at retirement age, there are plenty of possibilities out there. Keep your head-up folks (those that are not retiring). For those that are retiring, thank you for your services, sir(s) & madam(s), and thanks for sharing your incredible knowledge.
Up yours, Dell
