I don’t know about you, but the uncertainty and malaise that have been plaguing Nike for a while, and continue to grow, are becoming unmanageable for me. It’s clear that nothing at Nike is going to change for the better. All we can realistically expect are more layoffs. I can’t afford to be caught unprepared when the axe falls, especially during challenging times. Having more options on the table will at least give you some peace of mind. It has definitely helped me ease the anxiety.

Rather than spending time posting on this forum, go fix up your resume and start applying…
This is the way.
I’m with you. I’m not afraid of getting axed, but the toxicity that I don’t see mentioned much is rampant where I am and as a high performer even I have my limits. Toxicity and back stabbing is becoming exhausting and unbearable. Classically, coming from leaders who realize they don’t have anything to show for and are vulnerable, which nothing good comes from those who operate out of fear.
Job stability in the US has always been an illusion. No unions, no rights, just at-will employment. It’s only stable when convenient for the employer. I’m surprised some of you are surprised.
Good luck with the job hunt. I have two friends who have been searching for 3-4 months now with no luck. Sad times…
Seeing as literally everyone else is laying people off I’m curious what your search criteria is?
Tech; continues to hemorrhage talent, not to mention ecom- both US and globally.
Adi, saucony, athleta, VF, Estée Lauder and so many luxury brands… he-l lulu just gutted their recruiters
Even stable gov jobs are no more so i am genuinely curious where you will look that wont be similar situation?
If there is some way to land a new gig and time it with severance, that would be pretty outstanding, though tough to do.
I agree though, the anxiety for the last 2 years is unbearable and I'm at the point to even take a pay cut if it means working for a company that actually acts like an adult. Not asking for much....
Best luck. Life is better on the other side. If you can, don’t quit without severance
