Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

cameras in San Ramon

today when I went to San Ramon, I saw the cameras in the ceiling. They are white and square and the black dot is the camera and the white dot is the speaker. Why would the company be putting cameras in unless they don’t trust their employees, especially with the speakers? What has this company become.

@OP You do realized around layoffs, every person on the lists that aren't getting a job are actively monitored for any proprietary files you might be stealing? On regular days, your badge in/out, log in/out, when your screen saver last activated and never deactivated which can indicate you've never been on your laptop working, your company owned phone text messages logged, how fast were you driving on a company vehicle when you had the accident, etc.

Are you worried about a facility camera when big brother is all over your company provided equipment? Why do you think they employ former LE officers (the mandatory qualifications required) at Global Security?

Darn it! They’re trying to keep track of how many snacks I eat.

I am bound and determined to eat my way through Lakeside to offset the nearly zero raise I got. Don’t underestimate how much food I can pack into this tummy of mine. Heck, I’ll even look up at those sensors and wave as I stuff my face! 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, they are cameras. The product page states they are designed for object detection, analysis, and logging. Raw footage is supposedly destroyed on the device. However, I suspect object detection could be highly specific, similar to how WhatsApp analyzes and extracts details from end-to-end encrypted messages.

These are motion sensors and part of a space management effort only. They are not cameras. That aside, this reorg is still horribly administered.

Jesus people, calm down. I know we are all amped up with the layoffs but those things are sensors to track movement and used to understand the use of space. Nobody tracking you personally and no personal data is captured. Take a breath people, ok?
