The only company that TSMC fears is Intel. They don't fear Samsung. They fear Intel. This is a fact. They are quaking in their boots about 18A trying to get as much intel (pardon the pun) on it as possible. It is that good. There is nothing which compares when you include the packaging optimization. I will go so far as to say 18A is so good, that Apple might have no choice but to use 14A if it wants to maintain the lead vehicle. This will be the true dagger through TSMC's heart and the beginning of bringing them to heel. 2025 will be the rougest time for Intel, but 2026 onward will be just as Pat envisioned it and maybe even better. These nodes have already been written off for the major losses as R&D and Intel is getting to the point of being able to milk them like 14+++++++. Get the money printing machines ready. You haven't seen anything yet. Lets not get started on what Nova Lake is going to do to AMD in client and server.

You can tell how nervous the TSMC fanboys are by the crazed responses to the reality that Intel has caught up and set to start taking customers with 18A-P, which was the plan all along.
18A was not built for PDK. It started before the external foundry effort got moving.
So customers are checking it out, but better able to design for 18A-P, which was built from the ground up for external use.
Customers also in late stages with packaging solutions and that will be big, as packaging is often more than 50% of the total finished product cost.
TSMC is awesome but Intel is getting awesomer, or at least far less sub-awesome.
OP: silly post, no wonder Intel is dead.
Pat, are you drunk posting again?
The best joke I have seen so far on this site,
No wonder Intel is going down the tube . . .
Yes because TSMC is just sitting on the sidelines not doing anything right now frozen in fear so much they can't even get to their fab to work.
“TSMC is in the rear view mirror!”
Says OP wearing some ridiculous sweater.
TSMC is laughing at Intel & wants to thank you for being the su---r to try out the new High-NA EUV Machines. That's an expense they wont have to shoulder. Once you're done dumping money into it & if it works were sure ASML will sell the working version to us along with all of your findings.
Dude you must be smoking that good weed up in Oregon. You would fail a random dr-g test a UPS. Stop hallucinating and face the hard truth.
Hay, remember when they stopped buying American cars because they su-ked? Same thing with Intel only now it’s Chips.
“Those Intel events were the full of biggest bunch of wannabes I’ve ever met. Couldn’t wait to get the he-l out of there.” - Steven Tyler
Should I tell ‘em??? OK…The RockStars only came to you little party’s because you paid them to 😂
That’s Intel. A bunch of bougie nerds strutting around telling everyone how great they think they are. Evan now. Lol.
Your a joke and everyone knows it but you.
Get woke, go broke.
Intel cannot recover the cost of capital.
Period.
Is anyone even vaguely aware of the financial situation? Pat bet the company and lost.
It kind of doesn’t matter how good the transistors are.
OP and others -- thanks for trying to help INTC go up. In the name of my forlorn RSU's I thank you. Too bad reality is raining a bit on your parade.
I agree with op. I see some TSMC people posting in here already. They are definitely scared. Those of us who know...know.
Looks like OP hit a TSMC-fanboy nerve.
Get used to it, cause that is going to continue to happen.
Rumors of Intel demise are ridiculously exaggerated.
I like your chutzpah of mentioning Nova Lake. If you’re going to spin a web don’t go small. Nova Lake is where Prodco took one look at 18A and 14A and decided they need something on TSMC 2.
YEAH.
Everything is actually pretty awesome.
Smells like
“AMD is in the rear view mirror”
Strongly recommend Intel to take a look outside on how fast technologies are evolving in industry. Please do not conceal is your small pond and think "I am the best" or "I will be the best in 2 years". Intel is currently 4X slower than industry.
It does not matter how Intel boasts that18A is great, you need at least one of the following:
- External customers using 18A. Big whale or small fish, you will need at least a few to fill the pond.
- 18A need to be proven profitable with good yield on Intel product. Otherwise, no one will come to use it.
- Have positive profit in quarterly earnings report.
Now everything is an eco-system. "Can do" does not mean "well done". Made in a lab or TD does not mean it is profitable.
Here is a clue for you... if your explanation for when a recovery will happen puts it more than 6 months out don't bother telling it. We have been hearing the everything will be great and all the competition will be eating our dust stories since 2021. Just STFU and deliver something without the lame projections. Do this 4 or 5 times in a row and you might have regained a fraction of the credibility Intel had 25 years ago when the tick-toc roadmaps actually delivered.
Yep Post ID: 1jvqd5zdv#OP was a silly one. Probably someone sitting around the new ASML High-NA EUV machines board to death waiting for someone to figure out how the fu-k we can get this thing to do acceptable yields without breaking the bank.
@OP+1jvqt4e93, unfortunately, it is over for Intel, in my very humble opinion. If you do not believe me, read the thread by Post ID: @OP+1jvqd5zdv. Is this an example of the best and brightest type of engineer that will help Intel take out the competition?

@a8 - nailed it
Which lakes did it catch a big whale?
I fixed it for you:
18A Late to market. Feasibility: Questionable
14A Pushed Out. Feasibility: Questionable
Packaging optimization. Waiting for whales.
Apple is using ARM now. Coming back for more Intel-Never.
New Nodes: Experimenting on a process nobody’s ever done before. can’t figure out what silicon hybrid or lenses to use.
Milk ANYTHING like you did 14+++++++ again and you’ll be bankrupt
Bought the “Money printing machines” from ASML and can’t figure out what silicon hybrid or lenses to use.
Nova Lake. Probably will be Pushed Out. Feasibility: Questionable
Dude !! Get a life !!
OP, what kind of stuff are you smoking lately?
Do you do pushups too? Maybe bring a robot dog on you're next rant.
Yes, so intel can steal people's IP.
Ha they don’t fear us thanks to Pat making us weak
Oh Pompei… you Pompei-ous fool. Keep on dreaming and go back to Circuit to post on the internal propaganda network. You can go to the cafe for more Kool-aid. We’re searching for the truth on this message board.
