Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Any idea why CIO of Nuveen was fired a week ago?

The CIO of Nuveen was abruptly replaced without any explanation. Any idea what happened?

The CTO (vijay) was likely fired for the numerous issues with Nuveen’s tech stack. There were multiple days last year that traders couldn’t trade due to systems being down. This is just one of the many many issues the firms has in its tech.

"Dude. You know there is this little thing called the Intranet, and you have search ability there. " Obviously, the Intranet doesn't have any info why Vijay suddenly left the company

To @1bg - if you work in IT and don't know who your CIO is, you don't deserve any raises, any bonuses, or any recognition. It is in fact important who leads the technology organization at Nuveen for those who work at nuveen. In any case, if you have nothing to contribute to the conversation, what is the point of your comment?

Bunch of whiners you all are. I knew exactly who the OP was asking about. He’s the only one that got fired recently.

@1bg agree with the last comment.
Vague. Lazy. And I might add a useless post that is completely irrelevant to this site.

We (users on this site) have noting in common with anyone above a level 4. We want to know how the company and layoffs impact us worker bees. The top 3 levels make a ton of money and can leave at a moments notice for any reason.

Most of us didn’t know which CIO you were talking about. And many don’t even know who is at the Exec. level for Nuveen either let alone TIAA. Either you don’t work here and are the troll or you’re too preoccupied with the top of the house instead of your own silo.

Your original post was vague and lazy, so....whatever.

I posted this question hoping someone would have the actual information. But most of the responses are nothing but useless trolling.

@w2 there’s ANOTHER new whistle blower case?

As further legal officer, speculation is that he is stepping down for health reasons. He will continue to be a special advisor to the CEO (for which he’ll continue to get paid).

Perhaps even more importantly, another chief legal officer is stepping down. Site, maybe it is just a normal and planned retirement, but it could also mean more trouble ahead on the legal and regulatory front. Anyone know what happened to that new whistle-blower case?

To anyone saying
“Who are you talk about? Saira?” … you realize when someone is fired they are gone from everywhere pretty much instantly. Like they never existed. Access gone. Teams chat gone. Intranet gone.

Only when folks resign do they still exist on the intranet or Teams for a short period of time.

@jb+1jvngfhwh I did and thought the same thing. Some folks like OP are just lazy or careless.

It’s like the people who know what he was fired are not posting on these boards.

So dude did something stupid. Insider trading, keywords in emails or chats, bad stuff in search history on PC or even AI tool, partying at an offsite… I mean the list of things people were fired here for more or less of those things is astounding. I’m sure we’ll find out at some point but also, like - who friggin cares!

Saira is nothing more than a marketing shill. Her LinkedIn is almost as cringe as T’s.

"Who are you talk about? Saira?"---I was initially confused by that as well as she is the CIO (Chief Investment Officer). But I suspect they are speaking about the CIO (Chief Information Officer), who left Tuesday of last week. I guess spelling out the full title was too much work.

I heard he actually came into the office 5 days a week and didn’t work remote like the rest of leadership. They can’t have someone being a man of the people when they all stay in their ivory towers looking down upon us peasants…

Dude. You know there is this little thing called the Intranet, and you have search ability there. But there is also a section for Organizational Announcements.

Normally they tell us the why (leaving to pursue other opportunities or retirement) but when they don’t obviously something went down and it’s none of our business knowing.
