The layoffs are happening, and fear is spreading throughout the workplace. It’s affecting not just our productivity, but our personal lives and well-being.
During the recent town hall, leadership chose to blame external politics—specifically, for President Trump—for these decisions. That statement was not only misleading but also deflective. The truth is these layoffs are tied to financial payouts related to victims of trust violations by certain doctors—something leadership should take direct accountability for.
What’s even more disheartening is that the hardworking frontline employees are the ones being let go, while the high-paid administrative staff remain untouched—still collecting six-figure salaries and bonuses. It’s clear who leadership values most, and it’s not those doing the day-to-day work that keeps this place running.
We constantly receive emails urging us to “take care of our mental health,” yet it’s those very same people sending the emails who are destroying it.
This needs to be brought to light—shared with the media if necessary—so the public can see how employees are actually being treated behind closed doors. After the success of the recent Joint Commission survey, this feels eerily similar to the mass layoffs of 2019: use us, then cut us loose.
We deserve better

Yep. A friend of mine who works up at Hudson Valley NYP just had his position eliminated.
