What more can we say? Morale has hit an all-time low. Leadership is not only out of touch but often completely absent. Employees are frustrated and burned out, yet feel trapped with no clear alternatives in the payments space. It’s a difficult situation from every angle.

GK’s recent call dealt a serious blow to employee engagement. My team no longer feels supported or valued under USB leadership. The sense of pride and purpose that once existed is fading fast. Many are quietly hoping for Elavon to separate from the bank, but we know that’s unlikely. USB seems intent on forcing Elavon into a rigid, one-size-fits-all corporate mold.

That’s because Elavon is in the toilet. If you think it’s bad at the bank, Elavon which still struggles to fit in- is even worse. It’s not growing and it’s not keeping up with innovation by competitors. If Gunjan is really trying to transform the payments business, she needs to start by cutting the poor leaders at Elavon and creating real change. Talech will never catch up to the market and people are miserable! I’m not just saying the word to make this sound worse; people are desperately looking for a way out and they can’t seem to get off the hamster wheel that Elavon has become. This business stupidly wastes money on things that simply don’t move the needle and those in charge know it. Peace out! ✌️
