Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Job Verification from HR

I've been hearing rumors that CDW verifies the job title and duration and rehire status. What else are they verifying? Salary?

Yes. They can't say how you performed or gossip about you but they can say if you are eligible for rehire. Name, title, and rehire eligibility.

Does this mean that when a employer calls to verify that someone worked for us, they will also include if they are eligible for rehire?

I don't they can/will verify your salary. HOWEVER, there is a site called TheWorkNumber by Equifax that likely contains your complete salary history and companies may be able to access it. I looked at mine, was stunned at how right it was, and then froze it.

I was told by someone that the former manager had to "approve" of the rehire. That makes no sense to me because if they aren't going to be the direct manager again, why is that required? But it's what I was told by someone at a staffing agency.
