I know a lot of us have teammates, bosses, subordinates that we confide in and trust. There is quite a bit of backstabbing going on where what you say in confidence is being used against you. Just be careful is all I am saying. If someone even your work friends of 20 years can use information that makes you a target instead of them, they will go ahead and do so.

@10j DEI has nothing to do with it. People love throwing DEI around without knowing what it actually means.
A lot of departments are being offshore to Carelon global solutions and Philippines. We can thank Rajat and Peter for taking our jobs offshored

The truth is our leaders are greedy and they let foreigners steal job because of their greed. Leaders get kickbacks and bonuses when they offshore as well. Multiple things can be true at the same time. Get over this versus that mentality. Or only one thing can be true at a time. Wake up!

You say our jobs have been stolen by foreigners and in the same breath call the leaders stupid and greedy. How can foreigners steal jobs if leaders are the ones giving jobs to them? Figure out which one is true before posting contradictions.

The whole corporate environment is built on lies and misinformation. This is intentional and keeps the workforce pitted against each other. This is how the workforce is controlled. We are called human resources. Not human beings. Fear and greed are powerful tools used by these corporations to control you. The fragile minds that run these places are weaker and more easily controlled. Free yourself from this mind control.
Gave 2 week notice as soon as bonus hit bank account. Was not going to wait around to get RIF’d. Was ready to leave/retire. No longer enjoyed the place after 25+ years.
My co-workers are lazy fools that lie about everything.
RIF'd just before retirement. Sweet! Guessing mgr had to provide names, so to protect the others they gave up retirees.

@e5+1jvdhq0ze -- I would have expected the opposite to happen. I would think that if you expressed an interest in retiring soon, you would then be very unlikely to be RIF'd, as the company would know that you're going to leave soon so why commit to paying you supp pay when it would be cheaper to let you retire on your own.
When I retired I told NO ONE. I used up all my PTO - downloaded all my personal documents deleted all my files on my last day and gave 2 weeks notice which is more than I would have been given or allowed to do if I was Riffed.
I shared with my boss a year or two ago that I was considering retiring. My coworker did too. Turns out, both of us (as well as others on my team) were recently RIFd.
I remember back in the day when two coworkers were going for the same position. They were very friendly with one another. The one coworker said, I am going to the mailroom to interoffice my resume and I will bring yours with me. A week or so passes. The one person gets the interview and job while the other does not. A mailroom clerk walks in to our dept to let the one coworker know, we found this shoved behind the shelf. Lesson learned. No friends just colleagues.
Colleagues are not your friends, period!
