Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Hope you have worked on your brown nosing skills over the years at the company

Similarly to the results of the previous round, this round will be all about who you know and how much you did over the years to be "likeable".
Nothing to do with your competency or whether you are the best fit for a job. It is all about whether the managers feel comfortable having you around.
If the intent is to remain at the company, I hope you did your home work well over the years.

Managers love brown nosers though, that's why the rest of us have to deal with tantrum-throwing frauds stomping around, running their mouth at all times because they think its impressive to interject constantly, even if what they're saying is wrong or a lie. They leave treats on desks and give cringy compliments in meetings thinking it will make up for their embarrassing personality...while the rest of our work loads grow to make up for the brown noser that does nothing but sit around and plot.

Ask yourself if you have acted professionally with contractors, coworkers, stakeholders and supervisors; thats what managers want. Brown nosing is inefficient and a good manager can see through it easily. It’s never too late to learn to be professional.

Skills are fine. People in management know me and are Job Owners. Hate to say it but your name will most likely land you a job this time.

Pinpointed feedback trumps performance at CVX. Why Chevron is in the dumpster and EM wins.

That sounds very true for Wells!

I agree with the original post and find it funny the response mentioning pinpointed feedback and the assumptions made about what the OP thinks and how he/she acts...

Said the mid career employee who thinks they really know their stuff, but have been clashing with people all through the years and never acting on pinpointed feedback they have surely got over the same span of time.
