Ge-z, we just let go of 3 long standing CDW people that put in like 85 years in total and created tons of programs, teams, developed people, etc. and we gave them like 2 sentence send offs. That email leaves you with 100 open questions and very few answers.

So for whatever is to come, referenced by the 2 comments prior to this one, are we to anticipate another wave of layoffs like October 2024 or more leaders / tenured folks to be sent off? Cuz the way Norm specifically acted in today's division check in was...curious is probably the best way to describe it. When he was with employees the week before talking about how he has another wedding to pay for next year, the email came as a shock. And today's specific verbiage was "transitioning out of CDW" so it doesn't sound like retirement. And to think they surprised him, over 30 years of tenure, after the summit and before that email (or maybe the email was the surprise) is not out of the realm of possibility considering how this company has operated in the last 5 years. But yeah, I'd like to know if all of us should worry or if it's more of the leadership who is on the way out (even if they don't know it).
Yep. I told you months ago and some trolls came out to call me a liar. Well, here it is at the same time as I mentioned and it is only the first wave.
Tip of the spear ladies and gentlemen. More to come. I can't say more than that now but I am a human being with feelings and ask all of you to prepare as you must. Don't sit idly by and be unprepared with options and have to explain to your family why you didn't safeguard them. I started looking and found an amazing job and left on my own. My friend in HR told me it was a good move because I would have lost my job in the last quarter of this year. She didn't share anything else other than more to come for many and that it was "wise of me to be proactive and look while I had a job.
CDW is not the company I joined in ~2010. It's gotten too big, we've made far too many acquisitions and I've seen some of our best leave (or be forced to). I'm scared to go since this was where I started my professional career and I already left and came back once already. I don't have a relatable degree to my career...just experience. Ugh.
Stop forcing CDW red Teams theme. It makes my eyes bleed every time I’m forced into a Teams call.
Lets be real, the training org is awful. Surprised it took this Long for Weiss to get the axe. That whole org needs a rework. They come out clueless and then they put the onus on AMs who at the same time they take accounts from to train them.
Norm's inability to see or at least publicly address the flaws in ITS and continue to push micro metrics that are time su-ks wasn't helpful. Leadership is fairly absent in SMB. Great for long term sellers who don't need micro managing, but leaves a gaping hole 0-36m. Their idea of leadership is Robinhood. Take accounts from tenured reps and give it to the new folks who won't prospect, but complain loudly. It's especially egregious for anyone of a minority status. Let's not help them be better sellers, but pad their stats so we leadership looks like they are making a difference for DEI. Have seen managers literally double reps salaries by giving them huge books when they were sh-----g the bed with what they had.
Broken? Yes. Absolutely. Changing? Yes. It’s not changing for the better. Of anything, it continues to get worse by the day.
The rot starts at the top with the CEO. Too many ineffective middle managers. No tools for AM's to prospect or leverage social media plus clawbacks on their commissions to pay digital velocity and integrated solutions salaries. Success unfortunately is married to "who you know" to save your job.
I am on leave caring for a terminallymill.parent.Who did we get rid of.?
I don't know what you aren't seeing. CDW is broken, and long-standing ineffective leaders are being replaced. This is not the end of it. The company needs change and so the company is changing. Adapt or die. Isn't this what we want?
Which division(s)?
